Donation of old calendars to be recycled into Braille teaching materials

On January 24, 2025, Thai Flour Industry Co., Ltd. donated 220 old desk calendars collected from employees and other companies within the Chinpong Office Building to the “Khlongsan District Office”. These calendars would be recycled to make Braille teaching materials for the visually impaired. The company was honored by Mr. Sorasit Luengrungkiat, Director of Khlongsan District, as a representative to receive the calendars. The calendars would then be forwarded to the Foundation for the Blind in Thailand under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen to be used as Braille teaching materials for the visually impaired.

This annual event ‘Please give us your old calendars’ organized by the Environment Department, together with 50 district offices throughout Bangkok, is accepting donations of old desk calendars to be collected and recycled into Braille books for use as teaching materials. In addition to helping reduce waste, this activity also helps increase access to education, enhance skills, and develop educational potential for the visually impaired. The company participates in this event every year and is part of the “THAI FLOUR CARES” CSR project. We hope to share educational opportunities, pass on encouragement to the visually impaired, and be a part of environmental conservation and helping society.
If anyone is interested, you can donate old calendars from today until January 31, 2025 at Bangkok City Hall and all 50 district offices throughout Bangkok.
