“Send Plastic to Recycle” Project in collaboration with GC You turn and Wastebuy Delivery

Thai Flour Industry Co., ltd. is determined in promoting environmental conservation and demonstrating social responsibility by initiating the “Send Plastic to Recycle” Project in collaboration with “GC You Turn”, a platform of PTT Global Chemical Public Co., ltd. and Wastebuy Delivery Co., ltd. The objective is to raise awareness of the importance of waste segregation and proper management of recyclable waste.

We encounter plastic in our daily lives, especially plastic water bottles and plastic containers. Although awareness about plastic recycling has significantly increased throughout the years, the problem resides in plastic waste management. Incorrect disposal of plastic waste, mixing them with other non-recyclable waste, makes it almost impossible to recover these plastics for recycling. Furthermore, improper disposal of waste also causes environmental pollution and damages the landscape. Therefore, separating plastic bottles is an important and easy-to-do matter that helps conserve our environment.

This project has been initiated through the collaboration between three companies with the aim of separating clean plastic waste and sending it directly for recycling, as well as generating additional income and reducing the organization’s carbon footprint. Firstly, we started off by raising awareness internally about the different types of plastic waste and plastic that can be recycled. That is, clear PET plastic bottles, such as clear drinking water bottles and opaque HDPE plastic bottles, such as milk gallons, soap bottles and shampoo bottles. Then, we coordinated with the “GC You Turn” platform for the installation of clean plastic waste collection points throughout our offices. Subsequently, we collaborated with Wastebuy Delivery to pick up and deliver the plastic waste to PTT GC facilities to be recycled. On December 4, 2024, Thai Environment Day, we were able to deliver 42.50 kilograms of plastic bottle waste for recycling. We will continue to expand this project to all branches of the company and create impact annually.
